| Abstract |
The concept of flying several satellites in formation to form a single sensor much larger than anything that could be flown on a single satellite opens up new capabilities and applications of space. Many new and exciting ideas are emerging in this area, but there are also realistic projects already at an advanced stage.
This is the third international symposium exclusively focused on formation flying. Its aim is to assess the state of the art and to look at the specific aspects of formation flying from all angles, including fields of applications, systemdesign, technology, operations, testing and programatic issues. The symposium is being organized by ESA, the European Space Agency, in collaboration with partner Space Agencies: CSA (Canada), NASA (USA). |
