Abstract The Weather Service in Alaska has access to many different satellites used in weather analysis and prediction. These satellites produce many different images, but the two most used are the visual and the infrared images. Infrared images are the most useful here in Alaska, as the visual are less than enlightening during the dark winter months and are only really used during the summer.
