| Abstract |
Although there is an unchanged demand for the surveying and documentation of the cultural heritage, modern image acquisition and analysis techniques are rarely used. Research on Digital Architectural Photogrammetry at the Institute of Geodesy and Photogrammetry of ETH Zurich is focused on the development of a system for Digital Photogrammetry and Architectural Design (DIPAD), which allows the efficient use of image analysis algorithms for the measurement of architectural features and guidance by additional topological information. Major aims of this development are: Accurate and reliable creation of a 3D geometric and semantic object descrition, Fast and comfortable data acquisition and data processing (on-line and automated), Visualization and further architectural processing in CAAD (e.g. simulation, manipulation, animation). |
