Abstract PSR is a NOAA-sponsored versatile airborne microwave imaging radiometer, a technology demonstration instrument, developed by the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) and NOAA/ETL (Environmental Technology Laboratory at Boulder, CO) for the purpose of obtaining polarimetric microwave emission imagery of the Earth's oceans, land, ice, clouds, and precipitation. The PSR was designed to provide several specific and unique observational capabilities from various aircraft platforms.
