SOHO has vastly contributed to our understanding of the dynamical nature of the Sun. Over the last decade, the solar physics community has identified numerous transients of various types: CMEs, SEPs, flares, but also: jets, spikes, sprays, surges, dimmings, EIT waves and more. Subsequently, their phenomenology has progressed quickly, but their physics is far from being completely understood. We know that transients usually encompass several layers of the solar atmosphere, adding to the complexity of the topic. Modelling efforts are ongoing and the lists of scenarios and precursors are not closed. |
