Organisation EWSE-Administration
Abstract SAFIRE-A (Spectroscopy of the Atmosphere using
Far-InfraRed Emission Airborne) is a high resolution
far-infrared Fourier transform spectrometer for
observation of the stratospheric emission. It uses
technology and observational techniques which have been
developed in extensive balloon experiments and satellite
instrument design studies. The instrument is currently
under construction, funded by the CEC. In this
application, we request funds to prepare and qualify the
SAFIRE-A instrument for use on the Geophysika
high-altitude aircraft in the Airborne Polar Experiment
(APE) programme.
