| Abstract |
The NOAA Satellite Information System (NOAASIS) serves as a central location for
disseminating satellite information provided by various contributors within the National
Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) and the external satellite
community. The NOAASIS is operated by the Direct Services Division, within the Office of
Satellite Data Processing and Distribution (OSDPD). In addition to providing assistance to
the global direct readout community, the Direct Services Division has responsibilities for
Search and Rescue Satellite-Aided Tracking (SARSAT) and the GOES Data Collection System
(DCS).
