VEXCEL’s Phase History Simulator, Scattert, is designed to simulate the phase history raw data of a spaceborne Synthetic Aperture Radar System. Data produced from Scatter may be ingested directly into the Vexcel Apext processing system, FOCUSt, or any other SAR processor that can process CEOS level 0 data. It can simulate StripMap, ScanSAR and Interferometric data. Scatter operates in two modes that may be combined. The first mode produces large-scale distributed target images, while the second mode can simulate SAR echo data from a complex target defined by a CAD model. Included is the ability to simulate echoes from a dynamic target such as a moving ship on a pitching ocean surface.
