| Abstract |
Vexcel Corporation, a global market leader in remote sensing ground systems and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) products and services, in cooperation with the Center for Southeastern Tropical Advanced Remote Sensing (CSTARS) of the University of Miami (Miami, FL.), announced their joint development of the OceanViewt ocean surveillance system. OceanViewt provides automatic ship detection from readily available, low-cost satellite imagery for use in law enforcement at sea, and at a fraction of the cost of conventional surveillance methods such as aircraft and surface ships.
