GOES-P All Fueled Up

4 February 2010 - The launch vehicle continues processing on stand and the United Launch Alliance is working off the technical issues that remain. The team is working towards a March 1 launch date. GOES-P is the latest Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite developed by NASA for NOAA.

This Envisat image features the city of Vancouver in the Canadian province of British Columbia. Vancouver Island is visible just off the southwestern British Columbia coast in the lower left. The snow-capped Coast Mountains visible northeast of Vancouver extend from southwestern Yukon through the Alaska Panhandle and virtually all of the Coast of British Columbia.

SAFARI Symposium

15-17 February 2010
Kochi, India

The SAFARI Initiative (Societal Applications in Fisheries and Aquaculture using Remotely-sensed Imagery) is organising an International Symposium on Remote Sensing and Fisheries from 15-17 February 2010 in Kochi, India. This symposium will highlight case studies using Earth observation data with contributions from key fisheries systems around the world.
